In 1905, Hill Top Farm in Ambleside was bought by the legendary children’s author Beatrix Potter.The house reflected Beatrix’s eclectic style. This attractive dark green paint colour, with muted blue undertones, was complemented by a daisy motif wallpaper designed by William Morris in Beatrix’s bedroom.
